For anyone unfamiliar with VSFighting, it’s one of the biggest fighting game events in the UK, bringing together hundreds of players for three days of brackets, casuals, pop-offs, and people pressing buttons at speeds we’re increasingly convinced shouldn't be physically possible.

This year's event ran from 24–26 July at Millennium Point in Birmingham, with everything from Street Fighter 6 and Tekken 8 to Third Strike, Super Turbo, Marvel and plenty more besides.

Arcade Club was there doing what Arcade Club does best: bringing the arcade.

We rolled in with a collection of original Japanese candy cabs, including Sega VS City and Astro City machines, giving players somewhere to step away from the modern tournament setups and remind themselves why fighting games and arcades have always gone together so ridiculously well.

From the AC Cup to VSFighting

This year had a little extra significance for us.

Back in May we launched the first Arcade Club Cup at Bury, with tournaments for Super Street Fighter II Turbo and Street Fighter III: Third Strike played on original arcade hardware (but of course)

As part of our Road to VSFighting, our champions earned their place at VSFighting 2026 courtesy of Arcade Club.

Seeing that journey go from a row of cabinets in Bury to one of the biggest fighting game events in the country is exactly the sort of thing we want the AC Cup to be about.

A Massive Thank You

We also need to give a huge shout-out to Justin, Jassi and the entire VSFighting/Electronic Dojo crew.

Events like this don't magically appear because somebody bought a few extension leads and made a Start.gg page.

The amount of work that goes into getting hundreds of fighting game players, dozens of tournaments, hardware, streams, schedules and approximately seventeen million cables into the same building is enormous.

And somehow they keep doing it.

VSFighting has grown from its Birmingham grassroots into a major fixture on the international fighting game calendar, and we're genuinely proud to play our small part in it.

And, Obviously… Congratulations!

Finally, massive congratulations to every winner, finalist and competitor across the weekend.

The UK fighting game community continues to be one of the funniest, friendliest and most fiercely competitive corners of gaming, and weekends like VSFighting are a pretty good reminder of why.

Thanks to everyone who stopped by, played on the Arcade Club machines, said hello or absolutely annihilated one of us in a fighting game we'd confidently claimed to be "quite good at".
