The Music of Gaming LIVE at Arcade Club Bury

Wednesday January 28th

Arcade Club Bury is hosting a night that cuts straight to the heart of why games matter.

Performed live by the Ancoats String Quartet, this is a celebration of video game music, the tunes that stuck with you long after the console’s switched off, informing how games felt as much as how they played.

Game music has always done more than fill silence. It taught us when to lean forward, when to panic, when to slow down and feel something. You remember the tunes even when you’ve forgotten the levels. Sometimes especially then.

The setlist runs across generations. You’ll hear themes from Castlevania, The Legend of Zelda, and Final Fantasy VII, right through to The Witcher 3 and Elden Ring. Old stuff that still hits. Newer scores that already feel timeless. All of it arranged for strings, which sounds fancy until you hear how right it feels.

And it’s happening in an arcade because arcades are where a lot of this music first got under people’s skin. Bright lights, loud rooms, high stakes, and a melody telling you to try one more time...You remember. We know you remember.

We’re proud to be hosting it. Properly proud.

If game music ever stuck with you longer than the game itself, you’ll probably feel at home here.
